Discover the highest Crater Lake in the world and be a privileged
witness of the greatness of the Incas. The Licancabur volcano (5.916m)
on its summit numerous treasures: an Inca sanctuary, a funeral ceremony
site with hundred years old wood, crater, lake, etc... During this
tour, we will also visit the most interesting sites around San Pedro
de Atacama during the acclimatization period. This ascent required.

CALAMA- SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA |
| Reception
at Calama's airport and transfer to San Pedro de Atacama, visit the
"Valley of the Moon" at sunset. Transfer to the hotel. (L,D) |
| DAY 02
SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA - RIO PURIFICA |
| Trekking
in the "Cordillera de la Sal". Visit of the museum and the
Quitor fortress. Transfer to Purifica where we set up our camp. |
| DAY 03
RIO PURIFICA - BAÑOS DE PURITAMA - TATIO GEYSERS |
| Trekking
to Puritama thermal baths (3.600m) where we have an unforgettable
rest in the hot spring before going to the Tatio Geysers where we
set our camp. Acclimatization walks in the afternoon. (CB, L, D) |
| DAY 04
GEYSERS DEL TATIO - SAN PEDRO - LICANCABUR BASE CAMP |
| Observation
of the Geysers early in the morning. Back to San Pedro and transfer
to Licancabur base camp (4.700m). (CB, L, D). |

BASE CAMP - SUMMIT - BASE CAMP |
| Ascent
of Licancabur (5.916m). back to base camp (4.700m). (CB, L; D) |
| DAY 06
BASE CAMP - SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA |
Transfer
to San Pedro de Atacama, free afternoon to the swimming pool. Overnight
in hotel. (CB, L,D)
(This day is reserved as a second summit day in case of the thwarted
attempt on day 5) |

OF DIFFICULTY AND PHYSICAL CONDITIONING: |
| This program
does not present any technical difficulty. The altitude, the constant
wind and possible poor physical condition of the traveler are the
main difficulties of theses expeditions. We recommend a good physical
condition, good personal equipment and a solid acclimatization (which
we provide) for the best chance of success. Our programs include a
minimum acclimatization period that we deem necessary. |
